Have rewritten the research proposal and sent it back. Marie says it looks good.
We head off for vacation tomorrow and I want to establish a list of what's left to do with the capstone. I fear that when I return it may be hard to pick up the pieces.
The front page server needs to be finished. I have a call into Frank K. about this and need to contact him when I return. With this up then the second site(s) can be visable. The second site needs some revision - at least the navigation links need to be added to the bottom.
I want to finish up the 3rd site. The flash buttons need to go (Abigail suggest downloading the new, trial version of flash to create accessible buttons but I don't have the confidence she has about taking on new software). Another approach is to simply create text buttons or to make photoshop gif rollovers of text, which I would prefer but I can see how to add ALT tags to these. I need to ask Julie S. In addition, I am concerned with some layout (buttons above the banner?, breadcrumbs?) items and especially with the colors. I worry that I am not using the standard link colors and will this present problems.
All three sites need to be reviewed with W3C and 508 standards. I want the 3rd site (Z site) to be verifiably accessible. I will also use the dreamweaver accessibility suite for review and to view all pages with kurtzweil 3000 (perhaps with JAWS or something like this. I need to add this information to the summary.
I need to find students to view my web sites and conduct the tests. I need to go to Landmark, talk to Kathy D. for leads, contact advisors and then find some students. I should do trials of the test first. I should do it and then have someone, grab someone on the faculty who is working this summer, to practice on.
The bibliography need to be completed especially with the retrieved from internet dates.
I need to decide what to for the reflection aspect of this project. A paper or some sort of timeline, log systems using this blogger account.
I need to prepare the presentation which I have started to think about in my head. Possible sequence includes - showing the first set of sites, and how they were revised using the feedback. Explanations of Landmark - the client, and of LD students with a simulation. Conclusions I have drawn, results of usability testing, guidelines for LD web sites and then implications for beyond Landmark.
In other matters I need to finish legal by reviewing others AUP policies and I need to get up to speed with Anessa's flash course.
Let's see if there is more to add later.
